Custom 4WD Fabrication for American Utes – Built in Exmouth, Proven in Perth

To transport our Reefwise Deluxe demo model, we required a trailer that could properly handle the size, weight and footprint of a Silverado 2500HD tub — something that simply doesn’t exist off the shelf. Rather than compromise, we designed and built a custom trailer in Exmouth, WA, purpose-built to suit American utes and heavy-duty 4WD applications.

The trailer was fabricated by Specialised & Precision Engineering in Exmouth, drawing on many years of experience in 4WD fabrication, custom trailer builds and off-road upgrades. Our workshop regularly carries out aluminium and steel fabrication, trailer repairs, suspension upgrades, drawbar extensions, wheel and axle conversions, and custom off-road modifications for vehicles travelling between the Pilbara, Exmouth and Perth.

With the Perth 4WD show approaching, the goal was to safely transport our Deluxe Reefwise Low Profile Canopy from Exmouth to Perth with complete confidence. The result was a fully custom trailer engineered specifically around the Silverado tub dimensions, ensuring precise fitment, excellent balance and stable towing characteristics over long distances.

Key features include drop-down stabilising stays, a custom heavy-duty drawbar, an integrated spare wheel carrier, and fully functioning Silverado 2500HD tail lights, giving the trailer a clean OEM finish that complements the American ute platform. Every detail was designed with usability and durability in mind.

On the road, the trailer performed exactly as intended, with excellent weight distribution and towing stability, even across varied road conditions. It handled the Exmouth-to-Perth journey effortlessly, reinforcing the importance of proper design and professional fabrication when working with larger American 4WD platforms.
